Affordable Cozy Sweater Garland

Updated: Dec 4, 2019

Low key - I'm very obsessed with chunky sweater knit ANYTHING! From pillows to blankets & more! - you name it - If it's got a cozy, chunky sweater texture to it - I'm all in for it!! 😍 I've found a lot of affordable sweater texture decor over the years, but last year when Erin, from @cottonstem shared a similar idea - I knew I had to try it myself! This very easy & super affordable sweater garland is in nearly every corner of our home this holiday season! 😘

//How To Use It:

So I'm aware the intended purpose of this product is mostly likely for knitting of some sort, but I do not have those kinds of capabilities đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž - so instead I found a different purpose for it & that's as garland for the winter season! The garland is already braided so you can simply unravel and start putting it up or for an even more chunky, knit look - take three strands & braid them to create a massive chunky garland strand! The possibilities are endless! [Sign from SimplyStyledHomemadeSigns]

//Where To Buy:

The chunky knit yarn garland can be purchased at Hobby Lobby for $10 for a whole bundle! If it's not on sale when you go - just use the 40% off one regular priced item coupon! You can purchase online or in store in the knitting/yarn section!

P.S - I used the color Ivory throughout our home! For me I feel that the darker tone enhances the sweater texture & it isn't so bright that it gets lost in all the white lights!

//How Much To Buy:

Two yarn rolls were used on a 4ft Christmas tree, a 5 ft Christmas tree, a 6ft Christmas tree, 3 strands braided & draped on a scroll & also draped on a faux fireplace AND I still had extra left over! So if you're wondering how much to buy - you should be good with one! Or buy two to save yourself a trip back to the store and just hang onto the receipt if you don't end up needing the extra. It definitely goes a long way!

//Ways To Style It At Home:

Once I got this garland hung up in one spot - I went kinda wild with it everywhere! It's great draped on a fireplace or layered with wall decor & of course is great on a Christmas tree! It's even more fun mixed with other textures like wood beads or ribbon garland!

My goal this Christmas season was pretty direct - turn up the level of cozy while keeping it affordable. I simply just love this garland not only because it's affordable, but the added cozy layer it gives to holiday decor is incredible! I do plan to leave it up on the mantle even after the holidays because it's still very transitional as simple winter decor too! So if you're like me - looking for a way to turn up the cozy & keep it within in budget - give this garland a try in your home this holiday season! As always - thanks for reading & stay tuned for more budget friendly decor content to come!

XOXOXO

Mrs. Northern Belle
