Budget Friendly Gift Idea for Dad

I can't and will not claim this idea to be original to me because it's not - but I saw this super inexpensive, cute photo idea on Pinterest & I had to share my results with y'all! It's hard to find gift ideas for Dad that are personal, inexpensive and not just the same old thing! This little photo idea would be super cute to recreate every year or even do it for other family members! Here's how -

All you need is your phone or you could use a local photographer to get a more clear shot & all you do is snap a single photo with each letter!

I purchased the DAD letters at Hobby Lobby for $3.69 each. There are different sizes & price points available though! I realized after purchasing the letters- that I didn't need to by the extra D if I'm taking individual photos with each letter... face palm moment.* 🤦‍♀️ So if you're doing MOM or DAD you only need one M and one D. Yes, I'm an idiot...I'm aware...

While we were at Hobby Lobby, they had a matte photo frame with 3 spots for 4x6 photos on clearance. I scooped that bad boy right up because it was just what I needed! BUT Dollar Tree also has a 3 spot photo frame for only a 1.25 if you're really trying to make this budget friendly!

Print off your photos from Walgreens - I highly recommend Walgreens because they're super cheap, fast to print and always have good discount codes to use towards photos! You can look on their website OR Google photo coupons for Walgreens and great options will come up!

If you wanted to just one photo you could spell out the word Mom or Dad in front of the kid(s). And as mentioned, you could also take a picture every year to gift and maybe put the photos in a bigger photo collage frame for a year to year growth transition! Either way - so many fun ways to do this! And this idea could be used for any family member too!

In total - this little project cost me $24.46! But if I did it with the Dollar Tree frame - it would have been $12! You can put it up at home or if the parent has an office - this would be great! Also pairs perfectly with a homemade card! :)

Pro Tip - Try to time the photo sesh around naptime - we were on a limited window to be able to do this in order to make it a surprise for Dad. My lil guy wasn't his happiest self as he normally is & was more interested in eating the letters than anything!😅 But I think that's what makes it more authentic lol!

Hope you give this little project a try! Thanks for reading!

XOXOXO
