I Chopped ✂ My Hair

I feel like every few years I get this bug up in me to cut off my hair and welp, it came back this season I guess! I was growing it out since my last chop back when I was in Michigan, but find every time it gets to a certain length - I get irritated with it. I'm def on a spectrum for something, because my hair on my neck gets me super uncomfy after awhile, I'm constantly flipping it and messing with it and I get tired of styling in the southern heat all for it get frizzy within an hour outside. My hair even makes me anxious at times - if anyone can relate. And now that my son is getting older, he loves to pull on it prompting me to just put it up which isn't always healthy either. So we chopped it!

I decided to go with a bob cut chop - my inspo - Julianne Hough's hair from Safe Haven - shocker I know - this movie/book has influenced my life too much 🤪 - if you know, you know. I wanted something light and airy that could be easily put halfway with a claw clip and short enough to be out of my sons reach to grab onto!

I certainly was nervous to chop it, but I'm ready to feel weightless and carefree this summer especially as I step into a new phase of life. As I become a stay at home Mom - it just felt right for a new beginning with my hair too! My job and my hair were still the only things I was holding onto from Michigan - but not anymore. I feel like I've finally embraced the new life I started creating a few years ago completely now! To some - it's just hair and yes it is in the sense I can always grow it back, but when you decide to make a big change to it - you realize it's so much more than just hair.

Let this be your sign to chop your hair for a light summer! ☀✂ Thanks for reading!
