Easy Low Carb Pizza
Yes, you read the title correctly! Easy, low carb pizza is possible! And I won't lie, even I was skeptical at first, but stay with me!
My husband and I are obsessed with pizza. We are not joking either...On top of being basically VIP members at Marco's Pizza, we also felt it necessary to have pizza as our main course at our wedding! Yes, you read that correctly too. Pizza is our favorite food and guilty pleasure. However, weekly large pizzas with double pepperoni can really add pounds onto the body! Not to mention the heart burn & gut bloat from grease, high sodium and carbs.
Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE regular pizza, but lately we have used regular pizza as a treat versus a weekly menu meal.
So what have we switched to?
Again, I was skeptical too, but promise these are a delicious & fantastic healthy alternative!
With only 4 ingredients needed & approximately 10 mins total for cook & prep time, these are hard to beat!
I purchase all my ingredients at Aldi (as always), but of course these things can be found anywhere!
What you'll need:
1 Jar of Marinara (preferably low sodium)
1 package of Whole Wheat Tortillas
1 package of Mozzarella cheese (or non-dairy)
1 package of Turkey pepperoni (fewer calories & less fat & to me-tastes better!)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
After making pizza's, place on a pan that is sprayed.
Put in oven for 7-8 minutes. Until cheese is melted or you notice outer edge of tortilla getting crispy.
& that's it!
[ You can even get creative with the ingredients too! In the past we've made BBQ Chicken Pizza's, Chicken Alfredo Pizza & a Spinach/Tomato/Mushroom one! Possibilities are endless & low carb ;) ]
Yup. It's that freakin simple!
These pizzas have been my go to when I come home from work after a long day & want to be lazy. Also these are a great meal to make for kids after school or to get them involved in the kitchen to make! Seriously y'all get after trying these bad boys!
