As they say - Carhartt is the North Face for country people 😙 And I ain't one bit afraid to admit that it's the total truth! ...At least for me! 😜
Growing up, when I was outside in the backyard or snowmobiling - there was nothing warmer than my Carhartt coat & bibs! Even though mine were a hand-me down from my older brother - I wore those bad boys forever & could have continued too if I hadn't decided it was time to get the ladies style instead of youth boys! 😳
However, I find there is a common misconception when it comes to wearing Carhartt. Many think it's just redneck wear for out in the sticks.... And while the brand is meant for hard work, durability, quality & warmth - it can also be worn in a stylish manner too! I wear mine all the time hunting, hiking, to the grocery store- everywhere! I wear the brand for it's intended purpose, but that doesn't mean I can't be ready to go hunting or work out in the barn & still look presentable to go out to dinner with my man!
So to all my northern ladies tryin' to stay warm & stylish in your Carhartt - here's my tips on how to! :) &&& A few tips on where to score Carhartt for less!
1.) Carhartt Vest
I'm not gonna lie - this may be one of my favorite pieces in my closet! I hate wearing coats when I'm going in & out of stores & this is perfect for that! Not only is it SUPER warm - despite it not even having sleeves- but it can be worn with so much! I layer my Carhartt vest with sweatshirts, sweaters, light long sleeve shirts & flannels throughout the winter! You can dress it up or you can dress it down!

I know Carhartt has a different name for this product, but I call it my barn coat 😉 I scored this jacket on sale at Cabelas last year & as hesitant as I was buying it, I'm sooo glad I did! This still has the traditional Carhartt color, but the pockets & sherpa lined collar give it some much needed added flare to signify a more womanly style & fit. This is usually my coat of choice during the winter! I'll wear it with my cowboy boots or Hunter/Duck boots for a more New England look. Highly recommend this coat!

On days that Michigan can't decide if it wants to be fall or late summer - I have my Carhartt Utility coat! This jacket is the perfect light layer for days where you don't exactly need a big coat, but something to layer with. I sized up to a large for an over-sized look/fit!

//Carhartt Hoodies - if you stop into my house on the weekends in the fall/winter - you can guarantee you'll find me in a Carhartt sweatshirt whether it's mine or my husbands ;)
